Laing, now a division of Xylem, manufactures small DC powered centrifugal pumps in seal-less canned-motor design. The rotor to the motor is the internal magnet that drives the impeller, and the magnet and impeller assembly rotates on a balanced spherical ceramic bearing. This spherical bearing design sees virtually zero wear, and results in one of the longest life sealless pump designs ever made.
Laing pumps are popular for use in computer cooling, small chillers, solar, hot-tub and other small OEM circulator applications.
D5 Solar series pumps are specifically designed for use with solar panel systems for circulating residential hot water. The D5 STRONG is generally offered for industrial OEM application.
Both versions are offered in brass or plastic housings.
